Audi A 3 Third Brake Light Not Working. Additional information on changing brake lights. I have this light on the dash but the brake lights work. [IMG] What can I do ?

Ok, so I took apart the third brake light and use a multi-meter to check if any voltage when the brake are pressed. When the lower lights do not come on and only the third-brake light works, the brake-light switch may be ruled out. I don't think I've ever actually seen it turn on.

Are you getting a light out indication in the instrument cluster or is the only indication of a problem the visible lack of a brake light? But after I tore apart the light I replaced, I figured out the solder on the circuit board worked loose. And the bulbs currently screwed into the brake section, work when I put them in the blinker section.
